Electronic Arts (EA) has shared an announcement regarding EA Play Live, its annual gaming showcase event. As part of the announcement, the company confirmed the timeline for the 2021 edition of the event. The video game publisher and developer also shared details around the format of the upcoming event. This event will likely happen weeks after the company holds its rumored Battlefield 6 reveal event. Looking at the details, the game publisher stated that EA Play Live 2021 will take place on July 22. Unsurprisingly, the company revealed that the event is following an “all-virtual” format this year. Let’s check everything we know about the EA Play Live 2021 event from Electronic Arts here.

EA Play Live 2021 show date out as Electronic Arts shares a new video teaser

The upcoming video game showcase and announcement event come just weeks after E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2021. As previously noted, E3 will take place from June 12 to June 15, 2021, in a similar, virtual format. However, EA did note that this event will not be related to E3 2021. Focusing on EA Play Live, the company also shared a short video teaser regarding the event on social media. The 25-second-long video teaser does not seem to include any hidden teasers or Easter eggs about the show.

In a response to this teaser, the Twitter account for EA Play also posted a GIF with the text “The Clock Is Ticking”. In the absence of any concrete information, the company will likely share additional information about Battlefield 6. This is because EA will continue to share more information around the game “throughout the summer”. We could also see some information around Dragon Age 4, and future updates around Apex Legends. Considering the work on Apex Legends Mobile, one can also expect some information around the upcoming smartphone game.

Comparing the new schedule from the timeline for the EA Play Live 2020 event, it looks like the company wants to showcase upcoming games at their own pace. Besides EA Play Live and E3, Summer Game Fest 2021 is also set to return from June 10. Looking at the Summer Game Fest 2021 website, it looks like EA Play Live will be part of the month-long festival. Other events that are part of the fest include Ubisoft Forward 2021 and Steam Next Fest.
