Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Season 2 to Premiere in 2026

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian returns with Season 2 in 2026, featuring new staff, a teaser visual, and more romantic comedy moments

On July 3rd, it was announced that Roshidere (Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian) is going to have Season 2 in 2026. This is not only big news because there’s more story coming, but also the timing feels kind of special. It was exactly one year ago when the anime's first episode was released. Pretty perfect, you can say. On the same day, they also share a teaser image—Alya and Kuze standing together, and it looks kind of intense, maybe hinting something serious is going to happen.

Some Staff Changes in Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Season 2

Now, about the people making the anime, there are a few updates too. For Season 2, Hiroshi Haraguchi will be taking over as director, with support from Kim Seong-min. The studio Doga Kobo is still in charge, the same as before. But Ryota Ito, who directed Season 1, isn’t coming back this time. Maybe that means Season 2 will have a bit of a different feel. But that’s not always bad, sometimes change brings something fresh.

Also, Yuka Yamada is now the one handling the series composition. Basically, she’ll be making sure the story connects nicely from episode to episode. On the other hand, Yuhei Murota is still staying for character designs. So fans can be glad the look of Alya and others won’t change too much. It’ll still feel familiar.

Where It Came From & What It's About

The anime is based on a light novel written by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. Originally, it was just a short story posted online in 2020, on Shosetsuka ni Naro. Then, Kadokawa started publishing it as books in 2021. Later in 2022, a manga version also started—Saho Tenamachi drew. In English, Yen Press handled the novel, while Crunchyroll streamed the anime for international fans.

Story-wise, it’s about a quiet and smart boy name Kuze. He sits beside Alya, a girl who’s Russian and acts cold on the outside. But sometimes, she says cute or flirty things in Russian, thinking Kuze doesn’t understand. But he does. He just keeps quiet about it. So there's lots of fun and awkward moments. Also, Kuze's little sister Yuki likes him too, which makes the whole thing more complicated. A strange setup, maybe, but it’s the kind of drama many fans are enjoying.

Waiting until 2026 may sound like too far away for some people. But the good part is, that fans now know the story will continue. Alya and Kuze’s strange, sweet journey isn't finished yet. That itself is something nice to hold on to.
