Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Announces New Anime Episode and 2025 Novel Release
A new Monogatari anime episode and the Tsugimonogatari novel have been announced for 2025, continuing the story with returning staff and fresh arcs

Monogatari is back again with something fresh. A new anime is being made and they say it's a "new episode" but maybe it’s not just one. It could be more, since before also they said the same but gave us a full arc or more than one part. This time too, might be bigger than it sounds.
A teaser picture came out too, showing the characters looking serious. There was also a video that had DJ Nadeko and Bro. Yotsugi doing rap and talking about the news. It’s unusual but fans already used to strange things in this show.
Off & Monster's last season came out in 2024
Earlier, the Off & Monster Season run from July to October in 2024. That had 14 episodes and covered many arcs like Orokamonogatari, Nademonogatari, Wazamonogatari, and also Shinobumonogatari. That season was pretty long and packed, and some people liked the pacing and some thought it was a bit too much.

The same team from that season is returning. Akiyuki Shinbo is the chief director again, and Midori Yoshizawa directing. Writers include Shinbo and Tou Fuyashi. The design of characters is by Akio Watanabe, who also is animation director. Other animators are Kana Miyai, Nobuhiro Sugiyama and Hiroki Yamamura. Music team includes three names: Kei Haneoka, Satoru Kosaki, and Yuria Miyazono. Studio SHAFT again will make the animation.
A new Tsugimonogatari novel is coming in October next year
On the novel side, another update came. Tsugimonogatari, the next book by Nisio Isin, is releasing in October 2025. It is said to be written just for fun and passion, not as part of serious story plan. But fans know even his fun projects can be deep and strange.
Monogatari first started in 2006 as novels, written by Nisio Isin and drawn by Vofan. By May 2023, 29 volumes had already published in Japan. English versions are handled by Kodansha USA. Anime is on Crunchyroll, where fans outside Japan can watch.

The story now moving away from Araragi, and follows the girls who still dealing with many supernatural things even after he left. Some of their problems were thought to be solved, but now they come back in new ways.
2025 looking like a busy year again for Monogatari fans. With both anime and a new book coming, maybe it’s time for new watchers to give it a try. And for older fans, it’s a reason to return to this strange and thoughtful world once again.
