GTA VI Developer's Accidental Leak Reveals Potential New Weapons, Including Chainsaws!

Accidental leaks reveal exciting details about GTA VI, including Vice City, a female protagonist, and potential new weapons like chainsaws and fire extinguishers.

Accidental leaks of information about Rockstar Games' involvement in GTA VI have provided a wealth of new information. Despite announcing that GTA VI was in development and being one of the most anticipated games of all time, Rockstar has been remarkably quiet about details.

Fans are still waiting for Rockstar to release an official trailer, despite leaks confirming a return to Vice City, the introduction of a female protagonist, and a number of other gameplay updates.

While they wait, though, some Rockstar employees have posted about their work on GTA VI on LinkedIn, and a recent update even seems to imply that chainsaws will make a comeback in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto.

Accidental GTA VI information leak by a Rockstar Games employee

A 2D/UI designer named "Sayan Saha" updated his bio on LinkedIn to discuss his involvement with GTA VI and to include references to the game. Although he ultimately deleted the information about GTA VI, screenshots of the bio before its edit have turned up, revealing his involvement with the game.

In his bio, he claims to have contributed to more than 500 in-game 2D assets for GTA VI, including more than 25 unique brands. Curiously, his work also includes lists and labels for things like chainsaws, fire extinguishers, electric boards, boat motors, and car engines.

This suggests that chainsaws and fire extinguishers will be available as weapons in GTA VI, which could be a lot of fun to use against NPCs or other players in GTA Online 2. The developer also described how he worked on signage, general messes like forms and certificates, and objects that show up in interior spaces.

Each of these was precisely created, moving from one interior level to another, giving GTA VI a load of detail and immersion.

Players should soon be able to see these features, especially as GTA VI's rumoured launch date of 2024 draws nearer.
