BGIS 2023 The Grind: Teams, Dates and More
BGMI publisher Krafton has announced Battleground Mobile India Series 2023, the official BGMI tournament where underdogs can prove their worth against the best BGMI teams in India. But before that, Krafton will conduct BGIS: The Grind which will commence on July 20, 2023. The Grind is the practice scrims where teams test their strategies and keep an eye on the opponent's gameplay.
BGIS: The Grind will feature 256 teams that will compete against each other. According to our sources from the esports community, teams who played well in the R2, R3, and R4 of the BGIS 2021 will be invited alongside Tier 1 teams to the Grind 2023. The Grind phase will ensure that the hype for the BGIS remains high.
The BGIS 2023 is going to be an official Battlegrounds Mobile India tournament taking place after a year. The tournament was supposed to happen last year but got postponed following the temporary suspension of BGMI in the country. Since the official tournament is back, it becomes extremely important for aspiring BGMI players to tighten their belts, jump into the battlegrounds, and showcase their talent in front of the masses.
The previous edition of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series took place in late 2021. Skylightz Gaming led by Saumaraj emerged as champions of the tournament, earning them a slot in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2021. However, due to the unavailability of valid documents, SKylightz Gaming failed to travel for the event, and Godlike Esports got the opportunity to represent India at the global stage. It has also been assumed that India might get a slot in the PMGC 2023.
