The anime, based initially on the manga by Miki Yoshikawa, continues the complicated love story of Nagi Umino and Erika Amano, two teenagers who were accidentally switched at birth and suddenly find themselves in a forced engagement set up by their families.
But what begins as an awkward arrangement slowly grows into something more heartfelt and chaotic as more characters enter the picture.
A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2: A Fresh Team Behind the Scenes
Season 2 is getting a visual and creative refresh, moving to a new animation studio, Okuruto Noboru. Taking the director’s seat this time is Masakazu Hishida, known for his work on Viral Hit. He’s also handling series composition under the name Jou Aoba, promising a cohesive and emotionally-driven narrative. Joining him is Kyoko Kon, who will lead the updated character designs, giving familiar faces a new look while staying true to their personalities.
