Among Us: How To Avoid Being Voted Out and Survive Longer
Tired of getting ejected early in Among Us? Learn how to blend in, make allies, fake tasks smartly, and control the vibe with these 8 survival tips and strategies!
With accusations flying, fingers pointing and someone yelling "trust me bro". It isn't hard to tell that this was not on your bingo card for the day.. but in among us, chaos is basically part of the starter pack. It doesn't matter if you’re innocent or plotting murders in electrical - if the vibe is off, you’re gone.
So, if surviving longer than two meetings sounds good, here’s how to actually stop looking like you are the mole in a spy movie
1. Blend In Like a Pro
Take this as your holy bible: don’t act weird. Yes, that's the move. Just act like you actually have a plan. If you’re Crewmate, do your tasks and if you’re Impostor, pretend you care about fixing the ship. No weird circles around vents, no pacing like you're waiting for your evil monologue. You’re just another player
2. Talk Just Enough
If you stay totally silent- you're sus. If you talk too much, you're also sus. Welcome to Among Us logic.

To find the sweet spot: casually drop useful info ("I saw Yellow in Electrical") without turning into a courtroom drama. Chill energy = trustworthy energy. This will lead us to making allies- if you do it smartly
3. Make a Friend (Or At Least Pretend To)
You’re not gonna survive solo. Whether you're Crewmate or Impostor, find someone to vibe with early on. Follow them discreetly, clear them if you can, build trust. If you’re Impostor? Even better. Trust = free alibis for later and free bonus votes that work in your favour
4. Accused? Don’t Freak Out.
Getting called out feels personal and is scary but freaking out just paints a bigger target on your back. Your best bet is thus to flip it instead:
Stay calm, ask smart questions ("Where was everyone? Who cleared who?"), and lowkey redirect the heat without turning into a lawyer. Try not to sound like a know-it all, that would have the opposite effect.
Remember: No one likes know it all's after all
5. Master the Art of Faking Tasks
Impostors, listen up:
Don't "finish" a multi-part task in two seconds. Don’t fake a Medbay scan when visuals are on. Respect the fake task grind. Watch how long real players take and then mirror it. Timing is everything. Don't think that no one will notice, because they will.
6. Kill Smart, Not Fast
You’re not here for body count records — you’re here for survival.

Pick off lonely players. Avoid killing in high-traffic spots unless you have an ironclad story ready. Also: know your kill cooldown like your life depends on it (because it does).
7. Know Who's Out To Get You
Cams blinking red? Someone's always watching. Admin tables lighting up? Someone knows exactly how many people are in Electrical.
Use it if you're a Crewmate, dodge it if you're Impostor. Basically: know who you're dealing with.
8. First Impressions Matter
You slip up once, hover weirdly or say something off and boom: you’re "a little sus" for the rest of the game.
Among Us is basically social psychology in space. Play it clean from the start. Move normal, talk normal, vote normal. Live to scheme another day.
At the end of the day, Among Us isn’t about tasks — it’s about vibes. If you control how you feel to the group, you survive. That's it. That's the game.
(Also maybe don’t kill in front of cams. Just saying.)
