Both versions of the device have a 7-inch screen that's really clear (1080p) and super smooth (120Hz). This means games and videos will look great and play without choppiness. They also have a feature called VRR, which helps keep the picture smooth even when the game's frame rate changes.

ROG Xbox Ally

  • Processor: Uses the AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip (a good performer).
  • Memory (RAM): Has 16 GB (enough for most games).
  • Storage (SSD): Comes with 512 GB (a decent amount for games and files).
  • Battery: Has a 60 Wh battery (good for a few hours of gaming).

ROG Xbox Ally X

  • Processor: Upgrades to the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip (more powerful for demanding games).
  • Memory (RAM): Boosts to 24 GB (even better for multitasking and intense games).
  • Storage (SSD): Doubles to 1 TB (plenty of space for lots of games).
  • Battery: Has a bigger 80 Wh battery (meaning longer playtime).

Expected Launch Date and Locations

Both the ROG Xbox Ally and the more advanced Ally X are expected to arrive for the Holiday 2025 season at stores. Though ASUS and Microsoft have not mentioned any particular date, the holiday season release normally means any time between November and December, a window apt for holiday shopping.

Once ready to launch, The Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X will launch in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and a wide range of other countries including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Keep your eyes open for the pre-orders, should you intend to get one!

Pricing Details for Newly Announced Xbox Handhelds

Although Microsoft has not released pricing, insider leaks and press reports indicate the probable price for the Standard ROG Xbox Ally should be around €600 / 599. It is also expected that the more impressive ROG Xbox Ally X would be priced at approximately €800 - €900 / 899 - 999.

These prices reflect the current ASUS ROG Ally handhelds (without the Xbox branding) running for an approximate €449 and €799.
