Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Removed from App Stores; Check Details
Warzone Mobile will be delisted on May 18, 2025, but online play will continue.

Activision conveyed that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be removed from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store as of May 18, 2025. The game will no longer be made available for new downloads and will signal a pending halt to active content updates. The game had a good concept: making the intense, fast-paced battle royale action of Warzone available for mobile devices. However, the game never really held the attention of an audience. Nonetheless, those who already own the game will be able to play online for the foreseeable future and keep their progress.
Ongoing Online Play as Purchases Are Discontinued
Players with Warzone Mobile installed can continue playing online and retain their progress due to the maintenance of the matchmaking servers, and can cross-progress. Real-money transactions have been stopped with immediate effect, and only the COD Points that were purchased before remain usable. Social features will also be retired with the delisting.
Reasons Leading to the Shutdown
Despite the efforts of Activision in trying to bring the popular Warzone experience to mobile platforms, Warzone Mobile did not manage to hook very strongly with mobile gamers. The company cited "careful consideration of various factors" and admitted that the game "has unfortunately not met our expectations" on mobile.
With inactivity spanning months, zero seasonal content, and dwindling player count in early 2025, the trend of decline was well recognised. After an update in early May 7, 2025, even less was said about this game was said to awaken interest, thereby only heightening the concerns regarding its fate.

Opened to great hopes in the previous year, Warzone Mobile faced criticism for dropping support for many devices to better its performance, thereby losing a few players. Alongside stiff competition in the mobile shooter market, the game never truly garnered a strong, loyal following.
Encouraging Players to Join Call of Duty: Mobile
With the lesser-performing show, Activision is now encouraging Warzone Mobile users to switch to Call of Duty: Mobile, which is the most successful mobile title, regularly updated and fostering a massive community. Rewards will be offered to players who switch as a means of encouragement.

While the shutdown position may come as a surprise to some, many actually expected it, for the game has struggled. The way of life for Warzone Mobile makes it more evident what obstacles exist in bringing a highly cultivated PC and console-gaming experience into the mobile landscape.
