Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5: Release Date, New Content, and More

COD Warzone Season 5 is coming with new weapons, events, and a return to Verdansk. Here’s everything confirmed and rumoured ahead of launch.

Season 5 of Warzone is all set to roll out, and players are already talking about what’s coming. After how Season 4 played out, many feel like it’s time for something new to shake up the pace. New weapons, updated areas on the map, and some new gameplay events should make this one different. This could be the last major season before the franchise moves into the next phase.

The battle pass timer is the clearest indicator, and it says Season 4 ends on August 7. So, unless there’s a delay (which hasn’t been said), Season 5 should start right after. Console players often get to preload the update, but PC users usually get it live. The season should last the regular length unless Activision says otherwise.

Some weapons have already been confirmed, and a few came from reliable data mining. The list looks like this:

  • M249 machine gun, used for holding positions

  • MP40 and Uzi are older but tweaked for a newer balance

  • APS rifle, which works better in mid-range fights

  • M60 returns too

  • Melee gear: chainsaw, spear, brass knuckles, boxing gloves

Also, the Torque 35 compound bow, which has retrievable arrows. Some of these will probably be unlocked in the battle pass, but others might come in-game as challenges or item store updates mid-season.

Operators, Crossover Skins, Map Changes and POI Adjustments

A new lead operator is yet to be announced by the developers. Users can expect Sims as one of the lead BP items. He’s from previous Black Ops games and now makes a return. There’s also The Fisherman skin (from I Know What You Did Last Summer), which is part of the ongoing horror crossover series. That has already been officially announced and matches up with earlier leaks. Apart from that, Verdansk is changing again. This time, the stadium is getting opened up. Not just the outside, but the interior spaces like boardrooms and access tunnels will now be part of the zone. It’ll affect how early rotations go and bring some variety to where squads land.

In addition to that, Urzikstan will feature the return of Atlas Superstore. This area’s got tight hallways, cluttered shelves, and a solid rooftop for fights or defense. It’s likely going to be a hot drop again, just like before.

Limited-Time Modes and Seasonal Events

Season 5 is bringing a few different gameplay modes, some confirmed and some teased. These include:

  • Superstore Resurgence, with 28 players fighting inside the new POI

  • Bounty Contest: Everyone starts with a bounty contract

  • Supreme Resurgence on Rebirth Island, which has higher-tier loot

  • Elite Contracts that give out powerful items, but are harder to complete

  • Recon Flyover event, which spawns Advanced UAV sweeps

These events are meant to push quicker matches, tighter strategy, and better rewards.

Caution: The above features and everything mentioned are based on leaks and early reports. They have not been confirmed officially and are also liable to change before the final release. So, stick around.

Overall, Season 5 has more going for it than the last one. Between the stadium opening, new POIs, added weapons, and some fan-favorite game modes, it looks like there’s enough to keep players active until the next big update.
