The new season for Dandadan is almost coming now, and the makers are thinking very big this time. After the first season became very popular in 2024, the anime gained many fans due to how it tells a story with fun and great visuals. Now, summer 2025 is going to have season 2, and already, much pressure is coming to the team to do more good than before.
Now, with the second season, one more director is joining the team. Abel Gongora, who before worked on some episodes and also the opening animation, is now co-director with Fuga Yamashiro. In a recent interview, Gongora said he was not sure if they could beat season 1, but they are all trying their best to make it even better. He knows people are expecting many things, but still, he believes this new chapter can reach a higher level.
Dandadan Season 2 Preview Looks Nice, Shows New Improvements
A few fans already saw the first three episodes in the early preview screening. That preview was not very long, but still showed a much stronger impression. The story, animation, and acting still feel the same as season 1, but a little sharper and improved. The style is the same, but everything is more polished, and more focus seems to be going on in the store, also.
Both directors are working together now and which gives a different feeling. Yamashiro said Gongora has ideas he never even thought of himself. This means the show can go in direction more unique direction. The emotional moments and action scenes are also handled with careful planning, as seen in this early footage.
Season 2 has to Be Bigger Than Season 1
Season 1 became famous not just for looks, but for how it tells feelings and funny parts with a serious tone. So, this time, fans not only want the same, they want better. Season 2 can’t just stay same level, or people may feel disappointed.
Gongora already talked on this topic, and said how they all know it’s hard to match past success. But he thinks the new season has a strong chance. From the preview and all feedback, it seems this season can go higher. And when it is released in a few weeks, maybe Dandadan becomes an even bigger name in the anime world.
