The game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach now has an official release date, which many people have been waiting for a long time. June 26, 2025, is the release date for the PS5, but not for other platforms at this time.
Death Stranding 2 Editions
It comes in three different editions:

The Standard Edition drops on June 26 at 12 AM in whatever time zone you’re in.

Digital Deluxe is the earlier one, launching June 24 at midnight, also based on your region.

And Collector’s Edition, which gives early access too, plus includes stuff like figurines, in-game bonuses, and more items that fans would probably like.
Those who do the pre-order get special digital content too, like a Quokka hologram and some gear for Sam, but it is mostly cosmetics.
Death Stranding 2 Midnight Release Explained
Sony is using what they call a “midnight local time” release, meaning players in different parts of the world all get to start playing at midnight in their area. That doesn’t mean everybody gets it at the same moment, though.

If you buy Deluxe or Collector’s, then your early access starts June 24, 12 AM.

If you're just getting Standard, then the wait is till June 26 at 12 AM, again based on where you live.
So yeah, that means players in Japan or Australia can play before people in Europe or the USA, depending on when their clocks hit midnight.

So technically it unlocks at the same hour, but not the same actual time around the world. Just depends on time zones.
Download It Early
If you got the game already, you will be able to preload it before release. That helps to avoid big waits when the game is live.
But even if game is fully installed, you still cannot play before midnight your time. The game will not unlock even if you try to launch early. It's locked until the official hour comes.

Also, Hideo Kojima mentioned a new trailer with 180+ shots will drop close to launch, which he says is like a short movie almost. That’s something to check too.
