Delta Force Enters Esports: $500K Invitational Tournament Set for September in China
Delta Force enters esports with \$500K tourney, open qualifiers live for September finals in China.

Delta Force, that free-to-play shooter game, is now stepping into the esports arena. Team Jade and TiMi Studio Group, both in unison, speak of their new tournament, the Delta Force Invitational. That one is taking place in China this September, which will be the first time ever that this game is doing so.
The reward for winning going to be really big, $500,000 in total. They are hoping for over 1,000 teams from locations such as Japan, Europe, Korea, and the United States. For the game, its meaning really big step now.
After announcing that the console version of Delta Force is coming out on August 19, they are also hosting this esports tournament simultaneously. As if they are hosting everything together.
Open for All Even When Called Invitational
Signups are already being done from July 14 and will continue until July 27. But despite saying "invitational," it's not purely an invitation category. Everyone who fall under the participation requirements can enter the tournamenrt. It has not been made clear how many are for invites and how many are for others who meet the qualifications. This is still unclear.
They are also introducing strict regulations. For example, 18 or older are the minimum to participate. And also, they shouldn't be a student or tourist, or else they won't be permitted. The qualifiers will take place from August 2 to 16. Finals will be in September, but where they will take place, nobody has any idea yet.
Prize Giving and Match System Still Not Clear
Here's how they are dividing money:
Open Qualifier Finals:
- 1st place will get $4,000
- 2nd receives $3,000
- 3rd prize receives $1,000
- 4th to 6th receives $500
- 7th up to 12th receives only $100
Grand Finals:
- The grand winner receives $150,000
- 2nd will receive $80,000
- 3rd receives $50,000
- 4th to 6th, they receive $30,000
- Remaining from 7th to 12th receive $20,000
How the matches are going to be played isn't revealed yet. But since they are having open qualifiers, perhaps it's a standard elimination bracket like others have.
Delta Force also appears to be going larger, attempting to bring individuals into the world of esports. How this pans out, we have to wait and see in the weeks ahead.
