The re-release also creates hype for the new Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, the beginning of a new trilogy of movies. That film will be out in September and will be released globally by Crunchyroll, Aniplex, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Mugen Train was initially released in Japan in October 2020. It was a massive hit, setting records as the top-grossing film in Japan. It made over 40 billion yen in Japan and over $500 million globally.

The film was directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by studio ufotable. Akira Matsushima directed the animation design, while music was done by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.

The story revolves around Tanjiro Kamado and the other Demon Slayers as they get an inquiry regarding a train where people are going missing. With assistance from a strong ally, they encounter a lethal foe in a fight to rescue innocent lives.

Audiences can also watch the complete Demon Slayer anime series, including Mugen Train, on Crunchyroll.
