This newest addition to id software's Doom series, "Doom: The Dark Ages," has a release date of May 15, 2025. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass as well.
Breakdown of the Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Pre-order any edition and the exclusive Void DOOM Slayer Skin will be delivered at launch. DOOM: The Dark Ages comes in three editions:
- Standard Edition: Features the standard game and pre-order bonus.
- Premium Edition: Provides early access two days prior to launch, digital artbook and soundtrack, Divinity Skin Pack (with skin for the DOOM Slayer, dragon, and Atlan), and access to future campaign DLC.
- Collector's Bundle: Contains all Premium Edition features, plus a 12-inch DOOM Slayer figure with removable weapons and faux fur cape, a Red Key Card replica, and a SteelBook® casing.
A Premium Upgrade is available for those who play through Xbox Game Pass, which provides the additional content and early access of the Premium Edition.
Gameplay and Setting
DOOM: The Dark Ages is a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal and puts players into a medieval world. The game focuses on melee combat, featuring new weapons such as the Shield Saw and Skull Crusher. The game also lets players pilot gigantic Atlan mechs and mount fire-breathing cybernetic dragons. The story delves into the background of the DOOM Slayer's rage, presenting a cinematic experience.
Pre-Order Availability
The pre-order function for this game is available on retailing platforms such as Microsoft store, Playstation store, Steam and Bethesda Game store. Although the hard copies for the game is not out yet, they can be bought from large retail stores such as Target, Best Buy, etc, once the game launches,
