EDward Gaming Signs zjc Ahead of VCT CN Stage 2
EDward Gaming signs Zhang “zjc” Juncheng ahead of VCT CN Stage 2 2025. After a tough season and missing the Masters Toronto, EDG looks to bounce back.

EDward Gaming has officially welcomed Zhang "zjc" Juncheng to their Valorant roster ahead of VCT China Stage 2, adding fresh firepower and experience to their lineup. Formerly known by the tongue-twisting in-game name, hfmi0dzjc9z7, zjc now goes by the much simpler nickname “zjc” which honestly is easier for both fans and casters alike.
EDward Gaming Brings In zjc After Missing Out on Masters Toronto
Many fans first noticed zjc during his international debut with Attacking Soul Esports at Masters Tokyo, where his team failed to win a match. Despite the early exit, his unique name caught attention across the global Valorant scene. Since then, he moved to TYLOO, where he spent over a year competing in the newly formed VCT CN League.
Unfortunately, TYLOO couldn’t make much impact. Across one and a half seasons, the team managed just five wins total, finishing near the bottom each time. Even so, zjc showed real value as a flex player, able to handle a variety of roles—from Initiators and Sentinels to the occasional Raze pick. After being released by TYLOO, the door opened for him to join one of China’s top-tier orgs.
This move comes during a rough patch for EDward Gaming, who were crowned Champions 2024 but have struggled throughout 2025. While they had a decent showing at Masters Bangkok with a top 3 finish, internal issues led to the departure of their key initiator S1Mon. His replacement, Jieni7, brought some stability, but it wasn’t enough. For the first time ever, EDG failed to win their region and even missed out on qualifying for Masters Toronto.
It’s still unclear how EDG plans to use zjc whether he’ll directly replace someone or if the team will go for a six-man rotation. But with Stage 2 starting July 3rd, we won’t have to wait long to see how things shake out.
