FragPunk Season 2: Rising Tempest Launches With Hurricane Lancer, New Maps, and Game Mode Changes
FragPunk Season 2: Rising Tempest arrives June 26 with Lancer Hurricane, maps Itzamna & Xibalba, 50+ Shard Cards, and permanent mode updates.

FragPunk is coming up again with Season 2, what they call Rising Tempest, and it’s supposed to launch on June 26, 2025. Fans are already waiting for it and there’s a good reason too. The update is bringing quite a few big changes, plus new maps, Lancer, and more game mode updates.
Hurricane New Lancer That Brings The Storm to FragPunk Season 2
The biggest update is probably Hurricane, a brand new polar bear Lancer, which isn’t something you see every day in a shooter game. He got saved from a storm, apparently, and now uses electric powers, smoke grenades, and some flash effects too. Not only does he look different, but Hurricane can disrupt the battle quite wildly, giving the team many new strategies to try.
Two Fresh Maps: Sky Combat and Jungle Mess
Itzamna – Shard Clash Map in the Skies
This map is pretty high up, floating like a sky port thing. You can zip line here and there, and control spots from above. It feels like movement is the key in this one, and storms make it look dramatic.
Xibalba – Ruins With Overgrown Trees
Now this one is more grounded. It's dense and full of ruins that remind some kind of a jungle temple. A perfect place for Outbreak mode, but also quite tricky to navigate because of how narrow the places are. Ambushes are gonna be common here.
New Shard Cards Are Mixed In FragPunk Season 2
FragPunk not only adds new heroes and maps, but they also bring like 50 new Shard Cards in a rotation manner. Every two weeks, you might see something fresh. Some of the examples include:
-
Rigged Duels, which take players into sudden fights.
-
Blind Fire Healing, which is odd but useful.
-
Converter Thievery, so now defenders have a better chance to change the tide.
There are also themed cards now based on modes like Outbreak and Shard Clash. And some cards will be boosted more frequently, so the game won’t feel the same every time.
Game Modes Get Some Adjustments
With Season 2, a lot of the most important things have been improved:
-
Chaos Clash is now always there.
-
Mirror mode comes back, and it has leaderboards this time.
-
They removed restrictions so players can now play any mode at any time.
-
Arcade rotation is gone—now everything stays unlocked.
This means you no longer need to wait for your favorite mode to return.
Cosmetic Stuff, Battle Pass, and Bundles
Along with gameplay, they’re adding new things to bu,y too. The battle pass is refreshed and has different unlocks now. Also, some themed bundles like Street Carnival and Phantom Fleet are introduced. These have new weapon skins and flashy cosmetics for players wanting visual upgrades.
Is This Update Worth It?
Seems so, FragPunk wants to shake up the formula with Rising Tempest, and with all these changes—from polar bear Lancer to updated card meta and better map design—there's something here for everyone. Also, removing the arcade limit means you don’t feel forced anymore.
So mark the date: June 26, 2025, is when Rising Tempest goes live. Get ready to experience chaotic fun with new maps Itzamna and Xibalba, the unique hero Hurricane, and tons of small but important changes. This season will probably be bigger than the last.
