Genshin Impact Nod-Krai Trailer Reveals 11 New Characters, Moon Lore, and Version 6.0 Factions
Genshin Impact's Nod-Krai teaser confirms 11 characters, moon mythology, and faction conflict in Version 6.0’s biggest region update yet.

HoYoverse has gone ahead and dropped a five-minute-long cinematic trailer called “Song of the Welkin Moon Teaser: Moonlit Ballad of the Night”, which shows us what’s coming next: Nod-Krai. This is the new frozen land that lies somewhere in the lower part of Snezhnaya, and yeah, it’s full of lore, mystery, and moon stuff. The region is confirmed to be released with Version 6.0, which is a part of the 5.8 update plan. In that video, there were 11 characters introduced, some old ones that players have been waiting for, and a few new ones, too. Along with that, the story teases moon myths, odd factions, and something bigger brewing in the background.
Genshin Impact Nod-Krai Trailer: Lore and Factions
One of the big things is about moons. There was a mention of this “Primordial Being” who created three moons long ago, but now only one survived, known as the “Frost Moon.” Apparently, that moon is a big deal in Nod-Krai and possibly plays a role in its magic and all that elemental stuff.
Then there’s factions, quite a few actually. There are these people called the Lightkeepers; they’re fighting something called the Wild Hunt, which is tied to the Abyss. On the flip side, the Frostmoon Scions are more like a rebel group that seems to worship the moon and do some weird lunar rituals. Also, the witches of the Hexenzirkel are in this too, with names like Alice and Nicole appearing. The vibe is that none of these groups are on the same page.
Characters That Were Shown
- Varka – He’s Mondstadt’s Grand Master and uses a claymore. His Vision is Anemo, and yeah, he’s finally showing up for real.
- Alice – She’s Klee’s mom and part of Hexenzirkel. A strong Pyro user, clearly not your average NPC.
- Nicole Reeyn (N) – She’s a Cryo witch, doesn’t talk much (or at all), and was in the lore before this.
- Lauma – From the Frostmoon Scions. She uses Dendro and seems to be doing some spiritual moon things.
- Flins – Electro polearm wielder, fights for the Lightkeepers. Probably one of the earlier banners in 6.0.
- Aino – She made a robot named Ineffa and uses Hydro and a claymore. Very mechanic-focused.
- Durin – Used to be a dragon, now he’s human with a Pyro vision. Possibly a result of alchemy.
- Nefer – A Dendro guy, linked to the Voynich Guild. No one knows too much about him.
- Jahoda – Seems to be an explorer-type, maybe tied to Dendro too. Travels with Aino and Durin.
- Columbina – She’s the third Harbinger and goes by Moon Maiden. Definitely up to something Fatui-related.
- Sandrone – Number 7 Harbinger. Has a thing for automatons and seems to be playing a bigger part now.
What’s Coming Up
The entire Nod-Krai novel will run through multiple versions, more precisely under the arc called by the title of “Song of the Welkin Moon”. The characters are likely to be introduced in installments, starting with 6.0 and continuing through 6.6. The game plan is that Flins stays ahead with Lauma, Aino, Durin, Nefer, then Varka, Columbina, Nicole, and Alice. We also hear of a person named the White Horse Fairy, who is said to be the Ruler of Time, but at present, we have little information about her.
In a nutshell, Nod-Krai plays like one of the largest expansions to Genshin to date. It has all the moon legends, massive appearances of big names, and new story arcs, which make this frozen place a seriously welcome change.
