Genshin Impact Reveals Varka and Alice in Nod-Krai Teaser Ahead of Version 5.8 Update
Varka and Alice are finally revealed in Genshin Impact's Nod-Krai teaser, hinting at major lore connections and gameplay additions in the upcoming 5.8 update.
HoYoverse has now released a teaser called Moonlit Ballad of the Night, and wow, both Varka and Alice appear finally. It is not just a pretty picture; this teaser is quite something. It puts these two heavily anticipated characters to the forefront in the entire Nod-Krai territory, which arrives in Version 5.8 or perhaps 6.0? Makes for how many updates. A look at July 30, 2025, is necessary.
Varka: The Mondstadt Guy Is Back
Varka, the big boss from the Knights of Favonius, who everyone kept talking about but never saw? Yeah, he’s here now. Looks very serious and buff. He has some kind of scars and holds the Wolf’s Gravestone sword, and also has Anemo Vision stuck to his coat. His look feels very knightly but also kinda traveler-ish, like he's been on some hardcore missions. Lore-wise, maybe he’s involved in defending Mondstadt again, who knows. The teaser didn’t say that straight.
Alice: Klee’s Mom Is Real Now
Alice, yes, the powerful witch who never appears but always gets mentioned in books and by NPCs, also showed up. She got a fancy witch hat and ears like Klee, but longer hair, and she’s elegant? Pyro Vision confirmed, but the weapon is still secret. Reddit fans were really into her reveal. One user said she’s a “peerless gem” and “inimitable beauty.” It was kind of poetic, weirdly.
Eleven New Characters in One Teaser
Besides them, there were like 11 characters? Too many to remember. Some names are Columbina, Nefer, Lauma, Nicole, Durin (yes the dragon one), and others. The trailer was kind of jam-packed and overwhelming, but also cool if you pause and go frame by frame. Each design seems heavy with lore, though what they all do no one knows yet.
Voice Actors and Vision Confirmations
Voice cast is kind of all over, Varka only got Japanese, Korean, and Chinese actors confirmed, not English yet. Alice has all four, including Rachel Kimsey for EN. The trailer showed their elements, but no gameplay yet. That part was missing. Varka’s Anemo style probably means he’s gonna swirl stuff and be tanky or CC-heavy. Alice, likely a Catalyst user, probably has Pyro bombs or support skills. But yeah, that’s still guessing.
The Lore Stuff and What It Means
This teaser ties together a lot. Like, Varka raised Razor, right? And Alice is the leader of the Hexenzirkel and obviously Klee’s mom. So Mondstadt and Nod-Krai are gonna link somehow. Maybe with Durin too, since he was part of the Mond lore. The teaser hints at old civilizations and something called Hyperborea, which sounds ancient and dramatic. Gameplay-wise, everyone online is already saving Primogems. People think this update is going to be huge. Possibly one of the biggest since Inazuma, maybe.
This teaser speaks a great deal. It presents people whom we have been waiting years to see. Both Varka and Alice are fan legends that come to life, and they look chef kiss. It might be a mere teaser, but the effect is already felt. On July 30, you might expect fireworks. Nod-Krai seems to be more than a matter of only some other region, but rather, a place that is created to upset the entire game.
