Genshin Impact's Version 5.6 update will commence on May 7, 2025, at 06:00 (UTC+8), with developers initiating a maintenance period. During this time, players will be unable to access the game, and the servers will remain offline for an estimated duration of five hours. It is recommended that players ensure their devices are connected to Wi-Fi for a smoother update experience once the maintenance is complete.
Genshin Impact Version 5.6 Update Server Maintenance: Pre-installation Now Available Across Platforms
Ahead of the full update, pre-installation of the game’s update resources is available on mobile devices (iOS and Android), PC, PlayStation®, and Xbox Series X|S. This feature allows players to download parts of the new version in advance, reducing wait times when the update is officially released.
For mobile users, pre-installation can be done by accessing the Paimon Menu > Settings > Resources > Pre-Install Resource Package, or by selecting the “Pre-Install Resource Package” icon on the login menu. On PC, players can use the "Pre-Install" button in the launcher. For PlayStation® and Xbox Series X|S users, the pre-installation process will begin automatically when the game is launched, provided sufficient storage is available. Maintenance Compensation for Affected Players
In appreciation of player patience during the maintenance period, those who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above before the maintenance starts will receive compensation. A total of 300 Primogems (60 Primogems per hour of downtime) will be distributed via in-game mail. Compensation will be available for 30 days following the update's conclusion, so players are advised to claim it before it expires.

Post-Maintenance Update Process
Once the update is available, players will need to follow specific instructions depending on their platform:
- PC: Close the game, open the Genshin Impact Launcher, and click the "Update" button.
- Mobile (iOS and Android): Follow the on-screen instructions or visit the respective app stores to initiate the update.
- PlayStation® (PS5™ and PS4™): Navigate to the game from the Home Screen, press the OPTIONS button, and select "Check for Update."
- Xbox Series X|S: Go to the system menu, select “My games & apps,” then the "Manage" tab, and update from the "Updates" page.
