"Is it over chat?" Fans Ask After Marvel Rivals Season 2 Massive Update Size of 49.1 GB Goes Live

Marvel Rivals Season 2 will go live today, and currently, the server maintenance is going on. However, you can currently pre-load the game before the servers go live so that you can dive into the action. But here's the catch. The game size for Season 2 is 49.1 GB on Steam. And fans aren't happy about how much space this update is taking, considering the game is just in its second season.

Dataminer, X0XLEAK posted a screenshot of the update size, and the fans flocked to their comment section on X (Formerly Twitter) to express their disbelief at the size. He also explained that this was done by NetEase to prevent any kind of modding of the game and wrote, "They reworked how they load assets, so the whole game needs to be essentially re-downloaded. This was done to prevent modding, along with added signature verification for pak files."
