Kaiju No. 8 Ends Manga Series, New Game Coming Soon
Kaiju No. 8 manga ends after 5 years; anime continues, and a new game launches later in 2025.

Kaiju No. 8 manga is finally complete now, after running for nearly five years. The manga, which was created by Naoya Matsumoto, had begun previously on July 3 of 2020, on Shonen Jump. It concluded with Chapter 129 on July 18, 2025. There is also this special sketch posted by the creator to give thanks and possibly goodbye to the people reading it.
This manga turned popular during its time because it had the recipe for it: it had monster fights, but with emotional stuff too. It got over 18 million printed and sold, so clearly it did pretty well. English readers had it from Viz Media, who have been doing the translations for a while now.
Kaiju No. 8 Game Version Is Also Going to Be Released
Aside from anime, there's also a game in the works. Its title is Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, and that one saw its first trailer or demo at Anime Expo 2025 last month. The game already has like 300,000 pre-registers from fans all over, which is quite high.
The release date isn't specified exactly, though it's going to be later in 2025, probably. So manga is finished now, but the franchise continues in other forms. With games and anime both releasing, it's not yet over for fans anyway. The narrative of kaijus and fighters is likely to stick with people for a long time, in any case.

New Anime Season Happens Now
Even if the manga is complete, the anime is not. The studio producing it, Production I.G., they already produced Season 1 from April to June 2024. Then, they had a recap movie titled Mission Recon and an extra episode, Hoshina's Day Off, which was slightly different.
Now, Season 2 should start on the 19th of July. It's being streamed on Crunchyroll, as well as on X (formerly Twitter), and Netflix, too, but only in a few regions of Asia, not globally. It's going to introduce more regions of the manga that weren't animated initially, and fans must be eagerly anticipating it.
