Tons of players have reported issues ranging from low FPS to error codes that just seem impossible to fix. These problems usually stem from internet lag, overlays running in the background, or outdated drivers. To fix these issues, let’s get to the bottom of it

1. Lower In-Game Settings

Sometimes, the simplest fix is the most effective. Drop those settings a bit and see the magic.

Steps:

  • Open Marvel Rivals.
  • Go to Settings > Display.
  • Set Graphics Quality, Shadow Detail, Texture Detail, Effect Detail, and Foliage Quality to Low.
  • Enable NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency.
  • Set Reflection Quality to Screen Space Reflection.

This should immediately cut down on FPS dips and random stuttering.

2. Enable GPU Acceleration, Vice- Versa

If your system is running Windows 10/11.

Steps:

  • Go to Settings > System then click on Display > Graphics.
  • Tap Change default graphics settings.
  • Enable/Disable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
  • Expect reduced input latency and a noticeable FPS bump.

3. Disable Steam Overlay (And Others)

Overlays can tank performance and Steam is often known for this lag.

Steps:

  • Open Steam.
  • Go to Settings > In-Game.
  • Uncheck Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

Pro tip: Disable overlays from Discord alongside NVIDIA overlays as well.

4.  Change NVIDIA Drivers to Studio Drivers

Switch to Studio Drivers to see if that helps improve stability.

Steps:

  • Download the NVIDIA app from their site.
  • Head to the Drivers tab.
  • Click on Game Ready Driver and select Studio Driver from the dropdown.
  • Install and restart.
  • You might just notice your game running cooler (literally and figuratively).

5. Change Windows Graphics Settings

Make sure your system is prioritizing Marvel Rivals where it counts.

Steps:

  • Search Graphics settings in the Windows search bar.
  • Click Browse, and find the MarvelRivals_Launcher.exe file. (Default path: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\MarvelRivals\)
  • Select Options > High Performance, and save.
  • Done right, this ensures your GPU handles the heavy lifting instead of your integrated graphics.

6. Set Super Resolution Sharpening To 0

It does not matter what setting you are fixed at, after you make it 0, wait 1-2 matches and see if any difference is noticeable. Otherwise, let’s try something else like:
