Maximum Football Officially Launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam as a Free-to-Play Sports Title
Maximum Football launches today on PS5, Xbox, and Steam with free-to-play access, next-gen graphics, and full customization options for all players.

Fans of football games now have reason to be excited because Maximum Football finally came out today, June 18, 2025. The game can now be played on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and also on Steam for PC. Made by Invictus Games and publisher Modus Games, it wants to make something different for people who enjoy American football but want something new from what they usually gets.
What’s different about Maximum Football is that it’s free-to-play, but it still looks like a big, expensive game. It uses the Unreal Engine 5, which makes everything looks very real and detailed. From the way players move to the field and the weather, everything seem much polished.
There is no pay-to-win thing, the makers say, and that is supposed to make it more fair for everyone who plays it. So, everyone have the same chances, even if they don’t spend money on it.
Custom Teams and Game Modes Included
One of the things players may like is how much they can customise. You can make your own teams, change players, design uniforms, and even mess around with playbooks and stadiums. This is not something all football games allow.
There are also few game modes to choose from:
-
Dynasty Mode, where you build a team and keep improving it for several seasons.
-
Pro Season Mode, if you want just a regular season with a fixed roster.
-
Online Multiplayer, where you go head-to-head with others in friendly or ranked matches.
Before it was launched today, Maximum Football was already being played by people on PC through early access. This gave the developers some feedbacks and ideas to fix things like how the AI behaved, menus that was confusing, or gameplay bugs. Many of those problems have been better now in the final version. They also said that they will continue to listen the community to make the game better over time with more updates.
What Is Coming Later?
Now that the game is finally launched, developers plan to do more. Things like seasonal content, new events, and cross-play between platforms are all coming. There’s also talk about maybe even a mobile version coming in later 2025, but that’s not confirmed yet.
Because this is the only free-to-play football sim, it gives something new for people tired of the same games every year. Even if it’s not perfect, it has potential.
With launch now done on all major systems, Maximum Football steps into the field with new ideas and a fresh start. It remains to be seen how it competes against bigger names, but for now, players looking for change maybe will like what it brings.
