Minecraft has finally made copper more valuable than before in the new July update. Though, it is not still the best, it is pretty more useful comparing it to past updates. Players can make swords, shovels, hoes and all that stuff, plus armor. So, it is of use at least till the players do not find iron.
That Copper Golem Returned Outta Nowhere
Now here’s something strange. Remember the Copper Golem from back in the mob vote 2021? The one that lost? Yeah, Mojang added it anyway. Took their time but it’s in now. And it got a job this time—it picks things up from copper chests and puts them into normal chests, but only if those got the same items or are empty. It checks around within a few blocks and moves to about 10 chests, then kinda waits if it can’t find where to drop stuff. Kinda useful, kinda random. Still, makes sorting easier than all that redstone.
Some folks seem excited:
“Was waiting for this golem! Now it’s even better.”
“Don’t need to build sorting machines no more.”
Copper Chests Oxidize Like Usual
So with all that, now there are copper chests too. You build them with a normal chest and copper ingots. Or if you get a golem, you receive one chest automatically. They act like the copper blocks—changing colors from orange to green over time. Unless you wax ‘em, then they stay the way they are. It’s not changing how they work, but it does make them look different, which some builders gonna enjoy. Adds character, maybe.
Still Not Fully Released Yet
Right now this stuff is only in beta and preview for Bedrock. Java folks gotta wait a little while, maybe few more updates. Mojang said things could still change before full release, so don’t be surprised if the golem gets tweaked or chests get changed again.
Why It Even Matters
-
Copper finally got real purpose now, not just for roofs
-
It gives players more early gear options
-
Golem helps with sorting stuff without needing redstone
-
Copper chests got that visual aging for more detail
Wrapping Up Thoughts
So yeah, copper ain’t just background material no more. The tools are useful, even if not strong. The Copper Golem is actually doing work now, and copper chests looking aged over time gives the game something fresh. It’s not a giant update, but still feels like something players have been wanting since copper first came. Better late than never, I guess.
