Mojang reveals a new Minecraft board game, Temple of the Charged Creeper, featuring dice-based dungeon crawling and cooperative gameplay.

Minecraft is getting a new board game again, this time called “Minecraft: Roll for Adventure – The Temple of the Charged Creeper.” It’s looking to be something exciting for fans who likes dice and dungeon kinds of games. Mojang Studios shared new details about it, and it looks like a pretty wild adventure that’s also got team strategy mixed with the unpredictableness of dice rolls.

This game is a dungeon crawler with dice, made for 2 to 4 players that play together to beat the game. You become Minecraft-like heroes trying to go into a strange and kind of dangerous temple, and then stop the Charged Creeper before it becomes more strong. You’re going to find special relics, avoid traps, and do lots of thinking (but also rolling dice).
The creators behind this is Mojang and Ravensburger, and both are known already for working on Minecraft games before. So expectations are there. The game mixes Minecraft vibes with board game stuff like teamwork and random events, so the players get surprised every time they play, probably.
The Temple Is Changing and Also Dangerous
The temple where the game happen is filled with traps, enemies, and puzzles. Every time you play, it’s a little different because the board pieces can move around or be changed. That means more replaying can happen.
As players go further inside the temple, the Charged Creeper is becoming stronger. It’s not just a regular Creeper—it’s charged, which makes it more scary. You have to gather energy crystals and other resources to weaken it, but also fight off skeletons and zombies that come in your way.
Crafting and placing blocks also seems to be part of it, like in real Minecraft. But here, it’s through game cards and tokens, which is interesting.

The game is planned to come out August 2025, and you can probably pre-order it sometime around July, but they didn’t say exact date yet. Inside the box you will find:
