Diablo 4 Delays Major Updates Until Season 10: Fans Frustrated by Slow Progress

Blizzard confirms no major Diablo 4 updates until Season 10. Players react to Season 9 stagnation, technical issues, and lack of mid-season changes.

Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4 will not receive any major updates until the release of Season 10. Since Season 9 has only just started, what this really means is players now have to wait quite a while before seeing anything significantly new. For a lot of fans who were hoping for faster improvements or changes between seasonal releases, this announcement didn't land well at all. There had been some expectation that Blizzard might keep tweaking things steadily, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time.

Community Frustration Meets Developer Communication

Across the board, players have been voicing frustration during the recent seasons. There’s been technical problems, issues with balance in character builds, and also a sense of repetition when it comes to the endgame content. Season 9 did bring in Horadric Spellcraft and Escalating Nightmares, and while those features are appreciated by many, most still feel like it's not really enough to keep them engaged long term. Blizzard has, to its credit, kept up a fairly consistent line of communication, though it hasn’t quite translated to visible progress when it comes to actual gameplay updates.

There was a small patch that is scheduled to roll out on July 29, which will handle a number of bugs and make the overall performance a little smoother. That said, it will not bring any big gameplay shifts or new mechanics. With no mid-season events or balance adjustments announced, many players are starting to question how active the development cycle really is in between seasons. It gives off the impression that nothing major will be added for a while.

Now all eyes are on Season 10. This is where the next actual update is expected to land, but Blizzard has made it clear that no new info will be shared until it's closer to the testing or launch period. Since the expansion called Vessel of Hatred isn’t due until 2026, seasonal content is going to be the main thing for quite some time.
