A livestream by Rob Wiethoff, who voiced John Marston, hinted at something exciting arriving, “not tomorrow, but probably before Friday.” That statement now got everyone talking if it’s about a new-gen version of the game.

A known leaker Nate The Hate, who talked on his podcast recently, said RDR2 is getting a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and maybe even a Nintendo Switch 2 version. According to him, this new version might be released late summer or fall of 2025. He already made right guesses in the past about Switch 2 and other stuff, so that makes his words a bit more believable.
Right now, Red Dead Redemption 2 works on PS5 only through backward compatibility, which is not perfect. It's locked on 30 FPS and the resolution is like, not native 4K but some sort of upscaled. So if Rockstar launches an actual PS5 version, it could give fans 60 FPS, faster loading, and sharper graphics.
