Rocket League Replaces Esports Tokens with Credits for an Easy Purchasing Experience

Rocket League is replacing Esports Tokens with Credits on April 22, 2025. Learn how the new system works, how your Tokens will convert, and what’s coming to the RLCS Shop.

Rocket League is set to overhaul its in-game currency system by replacing Esports Tokens with Credits, a move aimed at simplifying transactions across its virtual stores. The transition will take effect on April 22, 2025, at 4 PM PT, making Credits the sole currency for both the Item Shop and the newly renamed RLCS Shop.

What This Change Means for Players

If you still have Esports Tokens in your account on April 22, don’t worry as they will be automatically converted into Credits. Plus, as a bonus, you’ll receive an extra 10% boost, with the final total rounded up to the nearest 50 Credits. This means more value for you as you transition to the new system.

Keep in mind that the conversion rate of Esports Tokens to Credits depends on your country. For example, in the United States, 1 Esports Token is worth 0.9881 Credits. So if you have 1,200 Esports Tokens, you’ll end up with 1,350 Credits after the bonus and rounding.

This change makes your purchasing experience much simpler. Previously, Esports Tokens were only used for buying RLCS team items, which meant dealing with multiple currencies. Now, by using Credits for everything, you can manage your in-game purchases more easily without switching between different currencies.

Esports Shop will be now The RLCS Shop

In addition to the currency update, the Esports Shop will be rebranded as the RLCS Shop. To commemorate this launch, Rocket League will add universal Decals of RLCS 2025 teams, which is the first time universal Decals based on teams will be in-game. Universal Decals can be used on any Car Body, with the exception of ones associated with licensed third-party IPs.

In addition, Takeover Goal Explosions with RLCS team branding will also be available, which will provide you with even more ways to showcase your allegiance to your favorite teams. And, as with all items in the RLCS Shop, these will be available to purchase only with Credits.

As we approach April 22, you can look forward to hearing more about which RLCS teams will see their items showcased. This change is intended to simplify Rocket League's in-game economy and make it easier and more convenient for you, whether you're a casual player or an esports enthusiast. By going to one currency, Rocket League is ensuring your shopping experience is as smooth as possible.
