Supercell Simplifies Player IDs: Say Goodbye to Supercell ID Names

Supercell removes Supercell ID names and adds Player ID. Players can change their ID one time only for free.

Supercell, the maker of some of the most popular mobile games, including Clash of Clans and Hay Day, has now decided to remove the old Supercell ID names from players’ accounts. They are now going to use something new, called Player ID. This change will affect how your account is shown and connected, but it won’t disturb your game progress or your current in-game name.

The company stated that this move will make things more secure and simpler for all players in the long term.

Change Your Player ID Just Once When Supercell Changes Things

If you are not happy with the Player ID Supercell gave you, don’t worry, because one time you can change it for free. You just have to go to Supercell’s official website and enter your given ID, then choose a new one. After that, submit and it's done. But remember, after choosing, you cannot change again.

Also, the ID you select will be yours, and no other player can take the same. So you need to be careful and select properly.

What has changed now?

So from now on, Supercell will not use the old Supercell ID names. Everyone will be given a unique Player ID that depends on what their in-game name is. These IDs are automatically created, and there is no need to do anything unless you don’t like the one you get.

The transition will not touch your current name inside the game or any of the saved progress. Your gameplay and name will be staying the same as before in games like Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, or Hay Day.

Why are they doing this?

Before, Supercell ID was good to help keep accounts safe and allow players to shift between devices easily. Now with this new Player ID system, they said it will be simpler and better for making accounts secure. Also, there will be less confusion since no two players can have the same Player ID. This is a big change, but not a hard one. Everything else stays how it was. Your friends, your levels, and your progress, all will remain untouched. It’s just the Player ID that is being added as your new identity.

Better to claim the ID you want before the free change is gone.
