Team Liquid to Sport Pride Jerseys at Esports World Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia
Team Liquid will wear LGBTQ+ Pride jerseys at the Esports World Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia, supporting inclusivity in esports. Proceeds benefit LGBTQ+ charities as they compete in the global event running from July 8 to August 24, 2025.

Team Liquid has announced that its players will wear LGBTQ+ Pride jerseys during the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, even while competing in Saudi Arabia. It’s a move that stands out, given the ongoing global conversation around inclusion, especially in regions where LGBTQ+ rights remain a sensitive subject.
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has become a major player in esports. From investing in game publishers to hosting massive events like the EWC, the country has positioned itself as a rising hub for competitive gaming. But as the industry expands into new territories, cultural contrasts have also sparked debate, particularly around issues like human rights and freedom of expression.
In their recently released press release, they said that they’re showing up to compete, and they’re doing it their way. In their press release, the organization acknowledged the progress being made in the region, including recent reforms and releases of political prisoners. At the same time, they emphasized their ongoing support for inclusivity, both in esports and beyond.
Team Liquid will be competing in EWC this year as a partner team, and our goal is to win the club championship. This is an important decision, so I would like to give an update on our stance towards the event, and our experience with EWC so far.https://t.co/wWAlhnAGJO

“As a global organization, we believe now isn’t the time to stay silent,” Liquid said, reinforcing their intent to remain engaged, not distant. Their Pride jerseys will be worn across all regions where the team plays throughout June and July, including at the EWC.
The jerseys aren’t just for show. As per the Team Liquid release, Proceeds from sales will go toward LGBTQ+ organizations in North America, Europe, and Brazil, which are Team Liquid’s core communities. Additionally, the org is donating $50,000 to Rainbow Railroad, a charity that helps LGBTQ+ individuals escape persecution around the world.
Rather than stepping back from the tournament over this issue, Team Liquid is choosing to move forward and participate in one of esports’ biggest stages while continuing to highlight causes they support. In doing so, they’re joining the ongoing conversation about how competitive gaming can grow globally while still reflecting the diverse identities of the people who shape it.
