The House of the Dead 2 Remake Officially Announced for All Major Consoles
The House of the Dead 2: Remake brings enhanced visuals, classic gameplay, and new features to consoles and PC. Release expected by late 2025.

People who liked horror games in arcades have something to be happy about again. The House of the Dead 2: Remake is now officially confirmed, and will come to many gaming consoles. After the remake of first game released before in 2022, now Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio is returning with second part. This one promises nicer graphics, changed gameplay mechanics, and staying close to the original’s mood.
Second Game Is Coming Again
Back when it first released in 1998, The House of the Dead 2 become one of the favorite arcade zombie shooter from SEGA. Later it came to Dreamcast, Wii and even computer. Now with remake, the same fast action of shooting undeads will come back, but looking more sharp and advanced. Developers said the old story and paths will stay same. Even the strange voices will be there, just improved some for modern taste.
All Platforms and Release Window
Right now, there is no exact date given for when it will release. But they did said it will come to Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Some updated things like motion control, vibration feedback, and custom difficulties will be included too.
If we go by past game’s release pattern, people think it might come in end of 2025 or maybe start of 2026. Makers of the game also said that all versions will get smooth and stable performance, whether on big screen or handheld.
Gameplay and What’s Changed
Even if the core game stays similar, this remake is not just copy-paste. Some big improvements are:
-
Much better visuals and 3D graphics
-
New control options, like aiming with joystick or gyro sensor
-
Co-op gameplay for two players still exists
-
Trophies and scoreboards added for more challenge
-
Extra modes, but not yet explained by the devs
From early preview images and teaser clips, this version seems more dark in tone, maybe to feel more horror than comic like before. How the difficulty is balanced is also going to be important for fans.
It’s looking like Forever Entertainment wants to keep what made this game great, but also make it good for players today. Since remake of first game did pretty well, there is hope that The House of the Dead 2: Remake will do better. Whether you played the old version or not before, this new remake could be a fun and scary trip back to zombie shooting days.
