Bilibili Gaming Ends G2’s Run

The day kicked off with Group A’s elimination battle between Bilibili Gaming and G2 Esports. The very first map of the day was Sunset, which Bilibili Gaming secured with a commanding 13-3 win. However, thanks to Jacob "Valyan" Batio, G2 made a comfortable comeback, securing a win on Pearl with a 13-4 score, almost in and take-and-take fashion.

Unlike the first two maps, which were one-sided, the third map of Icebox was a nail-biter. G2 took the lead early, but BLG’s whzy delivered a clutch finish, securing a 13-11 win and eliminating G2 from the event.

With this defeat, G2's journey ends here in the Esports World Cup. However, for Bilibili, there is still a long road for survival as they will now meet Karmine Corp next.

Sentinels Knock Out Xi Lai Gaming

Over in Group B, Sentinels kept their EWC hopes alive with a hard-fought win over Xi Lai Gaming. Map 1 on Lotus saw Zachary "zekken" Patrone go flawless on opening duels, which was kinda missing on the previous day, helped Sentinels pull ahead 13-9. XLG answered back on Sunset, with strong showings from happywei and N4RRATE, taking it 13-8.

Things were becoming intense, but on the final map, Haven, Sentinels returned to form, and again Zekken led the charge on attack while Sean "bang" Bezerra locked down the defense. The 13-9 win closed the series 2-1 and kept the Sentinels in the running. They will now face DRX in the Group B decider match, which will take place at 2:30 PM IST.

Team Heretics Survive Against Titan Esports Club

Unlike other group matches, this encounter from Group C, many believed that this gonna be a one-sided affair in favour of Team Heretics, but it looks like the Chinese teams are ready to give it all in today's encounters. Just like previous encounters of Bilibili and XLG, Titan Esports Club also gave a very tough time to Team Heretics.

TEC shocked many by taking the first map, Icebox, 13-10, behind big rounds from Ding "CoCo" Dajian and Chen "TvirusLuke" Chen-ching. Heretics answered back on Haven, running a confident double-Duelist setup. Here also, TEC showed a hint of a comeback by pushing the match into overtime. Heretics held firm in overtime to take it 14-12.

Team Heretics will now face RRQ today at 5:45 PM IST.

EDward Gaming Outlasts 100 Thieves

EDward Gaming and 100 Thieves wrapped up Day 2 with an intense Group D elimination matchup. 100T took Haven 13-11 with early aggression from Asuna and creative Yoru plays from Cryocells.

But we all know, Sunset has always been EDG’s territory. ZmjjKK and nobody stepped up in this map, guiding EDG to a clean 13-7 win to level the series.

On the final map, Ascent, EDG’s attack overwhelmed 100T’s defense early. Although 100 Thieves mounted a late comeback, EDG sealed the series 13-10 thanks to a final burst of aggression.

Chinese fan favorite, EDward Gaming, will now have to face another Korean fan favorite team, Gen.G, for a final shot at qualification from Group D.
