Kayo Made a Comeback in VALORANT Patch 10.06 Update

One of the biggest changes in this patch is the significant buff to KAY/O abilities. His FLASH/DRIVE ability has been reworked to include a 0.8-second windup after bouncing off surfaces before detonating. This change provides a brief but crucial reaction window for opponents while still rewarding precise usage.

His underhand flash duration has been increased from 1.25 to 1.5 seconds, giving enemies a little extra time to enjoy being blind. Plus, the unequip time for FLASH/DRIVE has been reduced from 0.85 seconds to 0.6 seconds, meaning KAY/O can pull out his weapon faster after throwing a flash. That is a perfect update if you are up for aggressive pushes.

NULL/cmd also gets a Buff

KAY/O’s ultimate, NULL/cmd, has become more powerful and tailored for clutch situations. The time required to revive a teammate has been cut in half, from 3 seconds to 1.5.

Yoru and Vyse Nerfed

While KAY/O is getting stronger, Yoru and Vyse are seeing some nerfs to bring them in line. Yoru’s Fakeout ability is now more expensive, going from 100 credits to 200. From now on, it will not be as easy to use this ability as it is now because the economy will make you a bit hesitant on this part

Vyse’s changes target her ability durations. Razorvine now lasts 7 seconds instead of 10, while Shear has been reduced from 8 seconds to 6.

Map Rotation brings back Fracture and Lotus

With the intention of keeping gameplay a fresh experience, map rotation takes place with every major update. If you missed the Fracture zipline experience, Riot would have heard you, as Fracture and Lotus are making a return to competitive deathmatch. To keep things in balance, Ascent and Sunset have been sacrificed till the next set of rotations.

Gameplay System Improvements

AFKing is indeed a big headache, especially for players who are signed up for a rank push. Not only does the gameplay experience get ruined, but as a player, you also have to bear the negative rating cost. While this is the case for most mid-match, if this happens in the first round itself, thankfully there was a system of aborting the match, but this required a common consensus via voting, but sometimes getting everyone on the same page used to be futile.

That is why a new automatic remake voting system has been introduced, which makes dealing with AFK players in the first round much easier, and this also kinda reverses the earlier process.

If someone doesn’t connect or goes AFK, the game will now automatically start a remake vote, and you don’t need to type anything. If the remaining players vote in favor, the match resets without penalty.

That was it from the VALORANT Patch 10.06 updates. Let’s see in the future to what extent there is a shift in the game’s meta.
