Warframe Next Chapter: “The Old Peace” Unveiled: A New Era of Conflict Begins
Digital Extremes announces Warframe’s next cinematic update, “The Old Peace,” exploring crumbling truces, new enemies, and player-driven choices.

Digital Extremes has revealed that Warframe’s next big story update is called “The Old Peace”. And it is looking like something quite different than what came before. This was announced during TennoCon 2025 and is continuing from the events in The New War and The Duviri Paradox. But now, everything is shifting more toward political problems and uncertain peace, which may not last long.
Warframe Next Chapter: Peace in Origin System Is Falling Slowly
The name “The Old Peace” is meant for the agreement that kept the different factions from fighting. It is not true peace, more like an arrangement for no war. The Grineer, Corpus, and other groups were following it, but now the situation seems not so stable. From what Digital Extremes is showing, this peace is starting to fall apart.
The condition of Lotus is still not known properly, and new forces seem to be working from behind without anyone knowing. So the whole Origin System is turning into a place where trust is low and conflict is becoming more likely. Tenno will face a more complex situation now, with sides changing and politics becoming a stronger part of the story.
Cinematics, Choices, and a Deeper Mission Structure
Much like previous major quests, The Old Peace is shaping up to be a fully cinematic experience—complete with voice-acted dialogue, dramatic set pieces, and meaningful choices for players to make. The missions tied to it could be large in scope once again, similar to The New War, but with a sharper focus this time: how the game’s factions interact, evolve, and respond to your decisions. There's a real possibility that your actions will ripple through the world in more permanent ways.
We’re also looking at fresh enemies. And possibly new tile sets. The early concept art hints at odd, possibly semi-sentient machines or creatures that don’t quite resemble anything we’ve seen before. There's a strangeness to their design: sharp, intelligent, and dangerous all at once.
Warframe’s Next Chapter Release Timeline and What Else to Expect
There’s no confirmed release date yet, but the developers have hinted at an early 2026 launch. It’s still deep in development, though we’re likely to get more gameplay reveals by the end of this year. Alongside the main story, players can expect new Warframes, new weapons, and potentially even mechanics that let them align with specific factions. Or change how those factions behave in the broader game world.
At its core, The Old Peace isn’t just another war. It’s about what happens when fragile truces crack. For the Tenno, that means rethinking everything. Because of the peace they once upheld? That might already be broken.
