Released on June 5, 2015, the Version 2.4 patch to Wuthering Waves, called Lightly We Toss the Crown, is one of the largest content patches in the history of the game. The update is announced on June 12, 2025, and it includes entirely new characters, weapons, story-related content, a huge new area of the map, several in-game events, and quality-of-life improvements.

Maintenance & Compensation
This was carried out between 04:00 to 11:00 (UTC+8) on June 12. Players that had already created a character and opened the Mails feature before the update could receive:
- Astrite ×300
- Crystal Solvent duplex
- Bug Fix Compensation: Astrite x300
Grand Opening gifts
When they log in after the update and get to Union Level 2, the players will be rewarded with Radiant Tide x10, which is a useful item in character banners. These presents can be claimed through in-game mail until the next version.
New Region: Septimont
Version 2.4 takes you to Septimont, a gladiator themed city-state full of Romanesque architecture and mechanics. Players will now be able to access Slash Points, get around with the help of Heroes Legacy armor, and interact in new ways in the hot springs that are known in the region and that can now support up to three characters at a time.
New Resonators and Weapons
Two new 5 star Resonators make their appearance:
- Cartethyia (Aero/Sword)
- Lupa (Fusion/Broadblade)
New 5 star weapons Defier -s Thorn and Wildfire Mark will be introduced together with them in the weapon banner Absolute Pulsation.
Story Content
Other main quests like Act V: Shadow of Glory and Act VI: Flames of Heart continue the current story. Side investigation and sidekick missions provide flavour and level progression throughout Septimont.
Events System Improvements
Multiple events, such as Echo Combat, Septimont Travel Atlas, and Virtual Crisis have different rewards. In the meantime, there are such new systems as the Guide Depot, Global Filter, Focus Mode, Quest Fast Track, which improve accessibility and user experience greatly.
