Wuyang Hero Trial Arrives in Overwatch 2 Season 17; Check Details

Overwatch 2 is again coming with something big, as Season 17 is almost here, and fans are already talking so much. Blizzard has shown off the new support hero, who is named Wuyang, but before it was called Aqua. This update not only gives a new hero to try but also many other things coming in the game. With new cosmetics and themes, this season might be one of the most unique ones players have seen in recent times.

When Does the Wuyang Trial Begin and How Long Does It Go?

Wuyang will be playable as a trial when Season 17 starts from June 24, 2025. The name of the season is “Powered Up”, which will bring all kinds of stuff. Players on PS4, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch can try him.

But this trial is not staying for long, like the Hazard and Freja trials, this one is for a short time. Players should try him fast and give back some feedback to the devs. This way, they can fix whatever is not working properly.

The full launch for Wuyang will happen in Season 18, which they already said back in February in the Overwatch 2 Spotlight time.

About Wuyang

Before he was called Wuyang, the devs said “Aqua” as a code name. He is the 44th hero and only the second from China after Mei. He is holding some spear-looking thing, and the concept picture shows water and clouds flowing.

Narrative designer, Jude Stacey, also says that Wuyang will be “water wielder”, and he is going to play very differently compared to other supports. So maybe he heals with water or something like that.

New Season 17: What All Inside

• Season 17 got the name “Powered Up” and is going to come with many cool looks that look retro-style. Heroes like Genji, Sombra, Reinhardt, and Zenyatta are getting those skins.

• Battle Pass has them, and also, people can get some rewards in events or from the shop in-game.

• There are also two very new Mythic cosmetics, one is the White Tiger D.Va skin, and another is Reaper’s weapon, like a scythe style. They look very awesome at first glance.

Also, there will be new stadium maps and some improvements in gameplay, but they have not detailed it all yet.

This new season is looking like it is going to be full of surprises and different kinds of excitement for Overwatch 2 players. Wuyang will only be available for a few days, so players must not wait too long or they may miss it. And with all those new skins, mythic items, and small gameplay changes, Season 17 might be something that stays in players' memories for longer.
