xQc just dropped a bombshell. He’s been the face of Twitch for a long while, dominating the streaming space with his laid-back energy. But this time, he’s switching things up — stepping into the role of a tournament host. And it’s not just for any game.
He announced the official Marvel Rivals Invitational, set to go down on May 9, 2025, with a jaw-dropping $250,000 prize pool. That is insanity wrapped up as a pretty present. The real kicker? There’s more than just money involved. Let’s get into it
Who Is Involved?
“I’ve been working for months now, and finally I can announce it. May 9th, May 9th — put it on your schedule. XQC Marvel's Invitational. 250K prize pool. I’m putting a lot of my money in, and Marvel’s also in the prize pool. Mega tournament.”
So, there we have it- The event is officially licensed, backed by Marvel, and led by xQc himself. Not only is he organizing it, he’s planning to run the entire show and in his words “a good, fun, balanced and cool event”
He further elaborated by saying, “It’s finally happening. I’ll be able to host my own tournaments for the first time in forever. That’s happening. 100% locked in.” While sharing his flier he further commented “It’s my event. I’m running it. They’re licensing it and helping with the prize pool. If they put money in, it’s going to be huge. So f*** it.”
The tournament will also feature other top streamers. The event will be huge and will bring a new audience to Marvel Rivals. The tournament on its own is a smart initiative taken by xQc and Marvel as xQc has a huge audience of fans and the inclusion of other top streamers will just make this event a huge PR box for Marvel Rivals.
What Role Will xQc Play?
By now, we know that xQc will be the host and alongside that – he’s planning on playing And casting- taking on a more ludwig route. He’s left it pretty open, stating. “ I might play it and cast it - might do a kind of a dual production thing, where I'm trying to win as well. If I'm out or not- I can cast the other games as well. So, yeah I'm just kind of doing both. So other people like take over if I can't be casting or whatever”
Overall, this event will be massive and will drag in a new wave of potential players. For streamers, it’s unclear who exactly will be invited. Whether it’s streamers who grind Marvel Rivals all day or big names like Tarik – massive in their own right but not necessarily known for this game.. It's still unclear who exactly will be invited. This event is one of the first of its kind, are you excited for it?
