We saw the commencement of ESPL 2021 Level 1 Group B Round 2 matches. A total of 12 matches were played on the first day of Group B round 2. Four groups had their matches on the first day, where each group played a total of 3 games on different maps. The top 3 teams from each match have qualified for the Round 3 qualifiers.
ESPL 2021 is a franchise-based league announced by India Today Gaming, the gaming and eSports division of India Today Group. The tournament features a massive prize pool of Rs 25,00,000 distributed among the top 8 teams in the grand finals scheduled to be held on 29th August 2021.
ESPL 2021 Level 1 Group B Round 2 Format
The top teams from Group B round 1 qualifier competed in round 2 of the ESPL 2021 Level 1 Group B stage. Each team will play a total of three matches in round 2 of the league. The matches will be played in Bermuda, Purgatory, Kalahari maps. Overall standings will be created considering the points of all the matches. The top 3 teams from the overall standings will qualify for the next round.
Level 1 Group B Round 2 Match Overview
Top Legacy finished at the number one spot in the overall standings with a total of 122 points. The team took two booyah's out of the three matches played. Tycoons eSports took the second spot with a total of 84 points. They were the highest kill leaders in the overall standings. Cranky Yankees also qualified for the next round by finishing at the 3rd spot.
There was no pure domination seen in the group 2 matches. The top 2 teams of the overall standings got the same points. Both the teams scored a total of 108 points but Rejected X took the number one spot for its high kills. Never Settle took the 3rd spot with a total of 78 points.
TSG Extreme completely dominated the group 3 matches, scoring a total of 178 points. The team took 98 kills after competing in all the 3 maps. Phycho Gaming and Only North Zone finished at the second and third positions respectively. Lutox was the table-toppers of the BR2M4 round. The team took a total of 136 points including the 66 kill points. Besides Lutox, Team OBT and Captain’s also qualified for the Round 3 stage.
