MEITY might soon issue an order to unban BGMI in the country

The latest report from a news website has revealed that MEITY might soon issue an order to unban Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in the country.

BGMI's comeback rumors have started to pick up the pace yet again. The game has been absent from the Indian Play Store and App Store for more than nine months. According to reports, the game might make a comeback soon with a few internal changes in it. Recently, Krafton's CFO Bae Dong-Geun also talked about BGMI in a press conference after the quarterly earnings meeting. He said that the revenue generated from mobile games in the first quarter has reduced following BGMI's suspension in India.

The latest news report by News18 has revealed that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) might soon issue an order to unban the game in the country. BGMI was banned under section 69A of the IT Act following the Indian government directives. The report further stated that the ban on BGMI will be lifted for only three months. During this period, Indian authorities will keep a close eye on the game to ensure that it is following all rules and regulations.

According to the report, Krafton will bring some major internal changes to BGMI to get unbanned in the country. The changes include -

1. No Blood, No Gore - The bullet hit effect might be changed to a different color to make the game look less violent. Currently, the hit effects available in the game are green, yellow, and blue.

2. Playtime limitations - There were many cases of gaming addictions before the BGMI ban. Hence a feature might be introduced to restrict players from playing all the time.

3. Other internal changes and servers - One of the major concerns that the Indian government had was regarding the servers of the game. It was said that the data is being sent to servers located in China. Hence, Krafton might look to fix it.

It is important to note that Krafton is yet to issue an official statement regarding the game's comeback. The absence of BGMI has been felt in the Indian gaming community. From players to stakeholders, everyone is waiting for the game to make a comeback in the country.
