Niantic Labs, the company behind one of the most popular AR smartphone games, Pokemon GO has made a new announcement. As part of the announcement, the company has just shared details around the next Community Day scheduled in Pokemon GO. According to the game developer, this upcoming Community Day is scheduled to take place on January 16, 2021. In addition, the in-game event will also feature Machop, the fighting-type Pokemon. The company posted more details around the community day including an event-exclusive fighting move. We also got some information on other bonuses arriving as part of the upcoming Community Day. Pokemon GO January Community Day details

The game developer shared the details about the upcoming Community Day in a dedicated post on its website. As per the post, Machop will appear more frequently in the wild than usual. This means that Pokemon GO players will get more chances to capture Machop. In addition, they will also get a chance to earn, Payback a Dark-type attack. To get this attack, players need to evolve Machoke, the evolved form of Machop to Machamp during Community Day. The deadline to get this attack is set “up to two hours” after the January Community Day ends.

Looking at other aspects of the in-game event, players will also earn triple the number of Stardust while capturing a Pokemon than the normal amount. Niantic Labs also noted that any Incense used during the event will remain active for three hours. Pokemon GO players will also get the chance to buy a special bundle in the in-game shop during the event. This bundle will come with 30 Ultra balls, four Star pieces, four incense, and one Elite Charged TM.

Similar to other Pokemon GO Community Days in the past, this event will also go on for six hours. Players need to note that the event will kick-start at 11 AM on January 16 and it will go on till 5 PM. This means that they can evolve Machoke to Machamp till 7 PM. The game developer is also offering a “Community Day-exclusive” Special Research line that focuses on Machop. Players need a ticket to access this Special Research. If players purchase a ticket during the Pokemon GO Kanto Tour even till January 13, they will also get tickets for the January and February Community Day Research stories.
