Krafton, the parent company of PUBG Studios, the gaming division responsible for PUBG is planning something interesting. According to the latest information, the company is likely working on releasing new games as part of the PUBG universe. These new games will land on the PC, smartphones as well as gaming consoles. The company also noted that PUBG Studio is also working with Striking Distance game development studio on the project. We are likely to see these new games land in 2021 and 2022. Krafton is working on new games as part of the PUBG Universe, details
According to a report from Bloomberg, development studios PUBG Studio and Striking Distance are working on something called “The Callisto Protocol”. Krafton also reaffirmed that it will be a different project than the PUBG games. The Bloomberg report noted that the game launching this year will be a “new battle royale mobile title. On the other hand, the game landing in 2022 will be “another PUBG-related PC and console game”. Talking about “The Callisto Protocol”, it is worth noting that this upcoming title was highlighted at The Game Awards 2020. This upcoming game belongs to the “survival horror” genre making it unique in the current crop of PUBG games.
In addition to the new games, the company is also likely working on several new modes for PUBG Mobile. A recent report stated that PUBG Studio is likely working on a new mode that is similar to the popular game “Among Us”. The company has attempted to replicate this in the Chinese version of the game called “Peacekeeper Elite”. PUBG Studio is currently testing this new mode in the beta version of the game.
Looking at the details for the mode, PUBG Studio is calling this “Who is the Ghost”. In addition, the game developer has also launched a new map called “Inner Ghost”. Here, the players need to find the “ghosts” instead of the “imposter” among a team of “Special Forces”. Like “Among Us”, the “Special Forces” will need to complete several tasks during the game.
PUBG Mobile gets version 1.2 update, details
The information regarding the upcoming games and the “Among Us” mode comes right after Krafton rolled out the PUBG Mobile 1.2 version. This new version comes with a new Runic Power Mode, a new solo mode experience, and Metro Royale: Honor chapter. In addition, PUBG Studio will also roll out the Power Armor Mode in the game in February. Players will also get a new Honor System to unlock special rewards along with new weapons and several in-game improvements.
