According to a report from TechCrunch, “two sources familiar with the matter” hinted at the return. The report also noted that PUBG Corp has “privately informed some high-profile streamers” about the return. This report went ahead to state that the game could be back before the end of the year. It is also worth noting that PUBG Corp has not issued a statement in response to the report. PUBG Corp “could make” the announcement revealing details about the future plans “as soon as this week”. The company is also expected to run marketing campaigns around the game during Diwali next week.
As previously noted, several reports have hinted at several back-room conversations to bring back PUBG Mobile through a partnership. PUBG Corp has approached several major names including Airtel, Reliance Jio, Paytm, and more to take charge of publishing. Before the ban, Tencent was in charge of publishing and distributing the game in the Indian market. The report notes that PUBG Corp cut ties with Tencent after the ban. To address privacy concerns, the company had already moved all the data of Indian users to local servers within the country.
