The leak also claims that the game is being made in Unreal Engine 5 by XDEV studios. XDEV has been a major collaborator with some of the first party studios of Sony PlayStation like Quantic Dream and Sumo Digital. In case, this indeed does end up being a first party title from Sony, it’ll be XDEV’s debut as the primary developer of a title from Sony. Furthermore, the word out is that it is a brand new IP that Sony plans to provide live-service to. This makes sense since Sony’s plans of delivering more titles with live-service has long been out in the open. Maybe this is a nod in that direction.

As for the footage, we see a figure in some heavy gear, walking towards a balcony, shooting at some robotic monster. Clearly it is a leak from very early builds and nothing much can be said about the game or the apocalyptic setting. Regardless, we will reportedly get to see more of this game. Other live-service games in development at Sony include a Horizon multiplayer game, which the latest announced.

As for the footage making its way into the internet, such leaks are already pretty rampant and this is the latest from Sony’s games after the recent Returnal PC leak.
