Geoff Keighley, the popular TV presenter, and personality in the video game industry has just shared new information about Summer Game Fest. According to the announcement, Keighley has revealed that Summer Game Fest is coming back next month. He revealed that the all-digital event will stream across multiple platforms on June 10 at 11:30 PM IST. This information comes just months after Keighley initially announced the return of the annual video game showcase event. Like last year, the Summer Game Fest will happen over multiple weeks across different showcase events. Summer Game Fest 2021 will have a live performance by Weezer
The official website for the event also outlined the event lineup around the upcoming Summer Game Fest 2021. Inspecting the information, the Summer Game Fest 2021 will start 2 days before the E3 2021 video game showcase expo. As noted above, the “Kickoff Live!” is scheduled for June 10 followed by Ubisoft Forward on June 12. Right after Ubisoft Forward, we will get Steam Next Fest on June 16, 2021. After a short break, Summer Game Fest 2021 will continue with EA Play Live on July 22.
Like the 2020 edition, the Kickoff Live event will include several announcements, “World Premieres” and surprise announcements. In addition, American rock band, Weezer will also perform live at the Kickoff Live event on June 10. Keighley noted that one can expect “around 20 games” to be part of the first event. Besides, he did ask fans to keep their expectations in check due to COVID-19 and its impact on game development. One this worth highlighting is that this time, Summer Game Fest will concentrate most announcements in the Kickoff Live event.
Keighley also revealed the list of partners for Summer Game Fest 2021. This includes 2K, Activision, Amazon Games, Annapurna Interactive, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment, Capcom, Devolver Digital, and more. Other names involved include Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Gearbox Publishing, Koch Media, PlayStation, Riot Games, Sega, Steam, Square Enix, Tencent Games, Warner Bros. Games, Ubisoft, and Xbox.
