Ubisoft added that server support would continue for Breakpoint and Wildlands. Check out details on the statement from Ghost Recon Breakpoint developers here.

Ubisoft announced that it will no longer release content for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The announcement on Twitter also revealed that the servers would continue to remain operational so that fans can continue to enjoy multiplayer modes. The announcement also mentions that server support for the game’s predecessor, Ghost Recon Wildlands, would also continue.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint was released back in 2019 and received several updates throughout its timeline. A total of 11 updates were released by Ubisoft to keep the fanbase engaged with the content and a variety of game modes. Operation Amber Sky was one of the updates that featured operators from Rainbow Six Siege.

Operation Motherland mode and items themed around Ghost Recon’s 20th anniversary were also confirmed as the last content update for Breakpoint. The Tom Clancy game picked up the story from Ghost Recon Wildlands (2017). The game received mixed reviews at its launch which followed numerous updates by Ubisoft to fix bugs and add exciting content.

The developers thanked the gaming community of Ghost Recon Breakpoint for their support. They added that feedback received from the community will form the basis for future games in the Ghost Recon series. The content support has ended four months after the release of Ubisoft’s first NFTs. Ubisoft introduced Quartz items in Breakpoint which were playable NFTs skins for the shooting game called ‘Digits’. The concept received mixed feedback as well given the bipolar opinion towards NFTs on the internet.

The developers thanked the community for its continued support. The developers addressed feedback from Breakpoint fans and said it would be instrumental for future Ghost Recon games.

A future Ghost Recon game was announced by Ubisoft. The game called Ghost Recon Frontline was announced as a free-to-play battle royale for all major platforms. The game received extremely negative reviews from the Ghost Recon community. The harsh reviews led the game’s Alpha testing phase to be delayed indefinitely by the studio. Ubisoft began a closed beta for Frontline but its gameplay was leaked on Twitch. Ubisoft quickly deleted all leaked footage but the gameplay was criticised for its similarity to Call of Duty: Warzone.
