Anime MV of “Kusushiki” from Apothecary Diaries S2 shows key moments and character bonds.
Thus, TOHO Animation has posted a fresh anime-style music video for The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, in which the second opening theme "Kusushiki" by Mrs. GREEN APPLE is now featured along with anime scenes. Fans can go and watch it on their official YouTube channel.
Before this one, there was already another video of the same song, but that one is entirely in CG with a world that isn't real. But the new one is created using anime scenes and depicts the bond that occurs between Maomao and Jinshi. And there are sections with character Shisui, who also plays a crucial role. They include some scenes which have love-type elements, as those scenes are already present in the story and are highly significant.
The song was released on April 5. It is the band's 16th digital single. When it was released, it directly topped the Oricon digital single chart. It also remained in the top ten for seven consecutive weeks. That indicates how much the fans love it, not only anime.
Anime Getting More Notice as Song Also Grows
The first season of the show went on air for 24 episodes from October 2023 until March 2024. Then Season 2 started on January 10, 2025. It's being watched not only in Japan, but outside as well, such as in America, Europe, and other regions through the Crunchyroll platform.
There's a girl in the story named Maomao. She has a peaceful life with her father, who produces medicine. But one day, she was sold to the palace and began working at the palace as a servant. This type of life was not for her. Then, when the prince's children fall ill, she uses her intellect to determine what is wrong. After that, Jinshi, who works in the palace, notices her talents and provides her with more opportunities. Then she cracked a lot of medicine-like cases and became familiar with individuals within the courtroom.
