Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4 brings Rozemyne's journey to nobility and printing in a fantasy world, premiering Spring 2026 by WIT Studio
Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles had some really huge updates for “Ascendance of a Bookworm” fans. It’s finally been shared that Season 4, titled Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, is coming out in Spring 2026. The teaser and first trailer were shown at the event, but still not online yet for the rest of the people.
This time, the story takes a new turn. Myne, now called Rozemyne, begins living as the adopted daughter of the archduke of Ehrenfest. It’s not so easy though. She’s just a small girl and got thrown into a noble world, where there’s strict manners, lots of magic training, and heavy duties as High Bishop. She feels tired, but she still wants to share books and knowledge. She even tries to make a printing press, which might cause trouble for the high nobles.
The light novel, originally written by Miya Kazuki with illustrations by You Shiina, started out online in 2013. Later, TO Books picked it up and turned it into a full series, with over 30 volumes now. The manga versions have also been going on, with different artists handling different parts of the story.
WIT Studio Joins With Big Plans and A New Style
Talking at the event, WIT Studio’s CEO George Wade had said they were working hard to keep their animation quality strong. “We aim for beautiful visual and smooth action scene like we always do,” he says. Yui Shibata from TO Books also added that the series is turning 10 soon, and this new anime feels like a big next step. He says the story has already reached over 20 countries.
Goshi Yoshida from YTV shared the hope to making Bookworm as beloved in Japan as Harry Potter is in the Western countries. Before now, Studio Ajia-do was the one that made the first three seasons, which aired from 2019 to 2022. But now with WIT Studio joining, it’s feel like fresh air for the series.
Rozemyne’s journey into nobel society looks more intense than it was before, but with the book still in her heart and new team working behind the anime, Season 4 is shaping up into something real special.
