David Production’s New Isekai Series "Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth" Set for Summer 2025 Premiere on Crunchyroll

David Production, the production company behind JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force, has revealed the release date of its next major project. Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth, the new fantasy-action anime, will premiere on July 2, 2025. It will air in Japan on Fuji TV and internationally on the same day on Crunchyroll.

Original Isekai Tale Led by Veteran Creators

The series is an original isekai story by Hideya Takahashi, who has previously worked on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. Hayashi Mori, who has worked on Cells at Work! Code Black and Sand Land, handles the script and series composition.

Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth tracks Takeru Narihira, an ill-tempered high school student, as he is relocated to a world of fantasy, Denji Heian-kyou, after a fatal mishap in his actual life. Takeru's life is turned upside down when he is introduced to Tsukimiya, an enigmatic woman whose destiny is joined with his. He sets off to save her, jumping from one time zone to another in an attempt to re-create fate.

Dynamic Cast Brings Depth to a Mystical Storyline

Veteran voice actors bring the characters to life. Taihi Kimura plays Takeru. Maaya Uchida voices Tsukimiya, and Ryohei Kimura is Abe no Seimei, a wise onmyouji who mentors the young hero. Other voice castings include Kaito Ishikawa as the best warrior Atsunaga, Anna Nagase as his intelligent and lively partner Yura, and Marina Inoue and Chiharu Yoshitake as the twin talents Kazura and Shino.

In a recent Oricon interview, cast members talked about their characters. Anna Nagase played Yura as a female with unwavering ideals, saying she was drawn to the character's strength and pride. She had great hopes for the trajectory of the story, calling each episode "a high-stakes thrill."

Marina Inoue replied to the richness of the show, adding that the cast often refer to extensive lore documents during recording. She described Kazura as a gentle warrior who often couldn't keep pace with Takeru's spontaneity.

The newly released trailer gives the first look at Takeru's transformation and promises the emotional and narrative depth to follow. With its new setting, veteran creative team, and lively voice cast, Onmyou Kaiten Re:Birth is shaping up to be a highlight of the summer 2025 anime lineup.
