The anime TOUGEN ANKI will officially premiere on Japanese TV on Friday, July 11, 2025. Before it airs, the show is creating global excitement with special events, early screenings, and cast appearances in Asia and North America.
Early Screenings and Global Events
Before its official release, fans will get an early look at TOUGEN ANKI. Japan will hold a special event on June 21 to show the first three episodes. Fans can also enjoy a live talk with the main cast to learn more about the story and characters. The world premiere will happen first at AFA Indonesia 2025 in Jakarta, starting the show’s global launch.
In the U.S., TOUGEN ANKI will be shown at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles from July 3–6. Kazuki Ura, who voices the main character Shiki Ichinose, will be there to meet fans. Also, theaters across Japan will hold live viewings of the June 21 event, so fans all over the country can enjoy it together.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew
The show boasts a strong voice cast, including:
- Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose
- Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano
- Koutaro Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki
- Manaka Iwami as Homare Byobugaura
The main cast also includes Shogo Sakata, Natsuki Hanae, Kaito Miura, Aimi, and Ryohei Kimura.
Behind the scenes, Studio HIBARI is making the anime. Ato Nonaka is the director, and Yukie Sugawara is in charge of the story and script. Ryoko Amisaki designed the characters, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO is creating the music. The soundtrack is being produced by PONY CANYON.
The anime’s ending theme is called "What is justice?" It will be performed by the popular Japanese rock band BAND-MAID. Known for their high-energy music and past anime collaborations, the band adds excitement to the series’ launch.
A Dark Tale of Power, Blood, and Identity
TOUGEN ANKI is based on a manga by Yura Urushibara, first published in Weekly Shonen Champion. The story follows Shiki Ichinose, a fiery teenager who learns he’s part of the Oni bloodline, a group hunted by their enemies, the Momotaro.
What began as a tragedy turn into a journey of revenge and self-discovery. The show explore the violent history between the Oni and Momotaro. While the Oni are seen as villains, the Momotaro, who are considered heroes, also have dark secrets.
As Shiki learns to use his powers, his world changes. He begins to question everything about his past. The anime features action, strong emotions, and bold visuals, making it perfect for fans who enjoy intense fights, deep family drama, and big twists.
